So this is one of those episodes where my mistakes are your major win! Over the years I’ve invested thousands (and thousands) in business coaching and masterminds. And some of those investments have been more beneficial than others.

In my opinion, investing in yourself is a must if you want to accelerate your business and your personal growth. You need someone that can teach you what you don’t already know but these days it feels like there are thousands of potential coaches and masterminds out there making big promises and asking for big investments. So how do you know what to choose?

So in this episode, I am sharing with you are my own experiences of investing in myself so that you benefit from my 6 figure plus investment experience and maybe hopefully avoid getting ripped off although I am pretty sure at some point you are going to invest in something that majorly disappoints you. Sadly, I think that is part of the journey but there are things you can consider ahead of time to make your decision easier.

I’ve broken down my advice into three areas:

  1. How to know when to invest
  2. How to find the right coach or mastermind
  3. How to actually maximize the experience

My belief is that you invest in a business coach or a mastermind when you  don’t know what you’re doing and you need to learn in order to get to the next level - basically from the very beginning of your business building journey. I would have invested in coaching sooner had I known that it was an actual thing.

If you want to go deeper into this topic (and get more of an inside look at my first mastermind investment) I encourage you to go way back into The Business of Becoming archives to Episode 2 with Rebecca Tabbert. She’s a dear friend that I met in line to the bathroom minutes before spending thousands of dollars I didn’t have to join my very first mastermind. We talk a lot more about the importance of investing in yourself in that episode and I encourage you to check it out.

In This Episode I Cover:

  • How to know when to invest and why it’s no badge of honour to struggle on your own
  • A mindset shift to think about what all that going in circles is costing you if the investment is feeling big
  • How to find the right coach or mastermind for you and things to consider
  • Why fancy social media feeds and testimonials doesn’t always mean much
  • How to actually maximize the experience you’ve invested in
  • Why how you show up with your coach or in your mastermind is just as important as what they are bringing to the table
