As entrepreneurs we are all very passionate about our businesses and how we want to serve our communities. Abigail Hopkins joins me this week to share her story about how having passion and purpose helped her to transition out of her previous career and to building her own online health business. We all have passions and desires in life, let yours help you build the business of your dreams.

Abigail and I dive right in to the good stuff when it comes to following your passions, stepping away from a day job, and building your business the right way. It takes time to build your community, create a following, and build up your own credibility with potential clients. It also takes a lot of time to validate that what you want to offer actually has a need or desire in the market. As far as business goes, the old saying of “if you build it they will come” - doesn’t work.
Make sure that you are taking the needed time to build rapport with potential clients and to build that foundation of trust.

If you’re anything like myself or Abigail, you understand that regret is poison, and it’ll seep into you for the rest of your life if you don’t take a chance. If you really feel that following your passion is your calling and what you need to be doing, take a leap of faith and try it. Sometimes not taking that risk is the scarier option.

If you want to slowly move away from a day job into following a dream and building your business -then make the transition! On the other hand, success means different things to different people - how you end up running your own business is totally up to you. Whatever feels best to you is what you should go for, there is no right way to do this.

There’s one thing that we can all agree on and that is - adaptability is everything. When it comes to starting your own business, running your own business, transitioning from a day job to full time in your own business; being able to pivot on the fly but stay calm while doing it is imperative.

Another important step is being able to seek out mentors to help you. Learn from others who have done it before you; if you don’t know how to do a particular thing - seek out someone who has done it and learn from them. Finally, and this is a hard one for not only myself and Abigail but I imagine many of you - let go of some control. If you aren’t good at something or don’t like to do it, hire someone who loves it and will be great at it. It can be difficult to let go of parts of your business, but sometimes that is the best thing you can do.
